Rock Candy Xbox 360 Controller Driver Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit

Xbox One Controller not recognized Windows 7 64 Bit EllieSant Feb 22, 2016, 11:25 PM After a fresh install of Windows 7 64 Bit, I attempted to connect my (new) Xbox One controller to windows. The official Xbox One controller should 100% just work as good as the Xbox 360 controller on PC. The Rock Candy version seems dodgy. Try removing your current driver through device manager and install the 64-bit version to see what it does.

Windows 8.1

On a computer running Windows 8.1, you can use Devices and Printers in Control Panel to troubleshoot the controller. Here’s how:

Candy
  1. On the Start screen, select Control Panel.
  2. Select View Devices and Printers.
  3. Verify that the controller appears under Devices, and then right-click the controller and select Game controller settings.
  4. Check the Status of the controller, and then select Properties.
  5. On the Test tab, test that the controller works correctly. If there are any issues, select Calibrate on the Settings tab.
  6. If you continue to experience any issues, right-click the controller under Devices in Devices and Printers, and then select Troubleshoot.

Windows 7 and earlier versions of Windows

On Windows 7 and earlier versions of Windows, you can use Device Manager to help troubleshoot problems with your controller, see whether the correct items are listed, and to make sure there are no conflicts.

Controller

Note A conflict is marked by a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager.

To use Device Manager, follow these steps:

  1. Select Start, then Run, then type sysdm.cpl, and then select OK.
  2. On the Hardware tab, select Device Manager.
  3. When the controller is successfully installed, you see three entries in Device Manager. There should be two entries under Human Interface Devices:
    • HID-compliant game controller
    • USB Human Interface Device
Additionally, there should be a third entry in under Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class:
    • Xbox 360 Controller for Windows
  4. If you see yellow exclamation points next to any of these entries, there's a problem with the installation. If there's a problem for either of the entries under Human Interface Devices, first verify that the problem is caused by the controller by unplugging it. If a hardware conflict with the controller was causing the problem, the yellow exclamation point will no longer appear after the controller is unplugged.

To resolve controller problems in Device Manager, try these solutions one at a time (move to the next solution only if the one you’re trying fails to resolve your problem):

My wired xbox 360 won't work with Windows 10 (64-bit). It's NOT a 3rd party controller.
I've tried downloading the drivers from the Microsoft website, but it doesn't do anything.
Here's what's going on:
I plug in the controller and here's the notification I get:

So then I go to Device Manager and here's what I see

Then I right click the 'Unknown USB Device' and 'Update Driver Software'. Then I 'Browse my computer for driver software'.

Then I select the option I circled in blue.

And I'm supposed to see an option for an xbox 360 controller, but I don't. Here's what I get:

I uncheck 'show compatible hardware', but still no xbox, nor anything microsoft/gamepad/etc under the Manufacturer:

I've been told I could Add Legacy Hardware in the Device ManagerAdd legacy hardware. It takes me to this:

I click next and select the bottom option:

Then I scroll down the list on the next page and see Xbox Peripherals. I thought I might have found it by this point.

I select Xbox Peripherals and click next, but then the next page ends up blank:

I've spent too much time on 100 different forums looking for a solution for this problem. I've rebooted, and even completely reinstalled Windows 10.
Microsoft support took too long and has been useless to me.
Any help would be fine.
Thanks!
